We make cutlets with different stuffings. Today I’m going to share rawa cutlet. We can make fresh stuffing or can make cutlets with left over upma.Very simple but tasty.
Ingredients
Rawa……120 gms Green chillies…2nos chopped
Garam masala powder….1 tsp
Maida……10 gm
Groundnut powdered….15gms
GratedGinger ….1″piece
Big onion chopped…1
Milk….400 ml
Bread crumbs for coating.
Oil for frying
Method.
1. In a kadai put oil add onion,green chillies,grated ginger and garam masala.
2.Add milk to it.
3. Leave for few mts.
5. Slowly add rawa to it.Add required salt and powdered groundnut.Stir it constantly till the milk is absorbed.
6.When the mixture gets cooled shape it as desired.
7.Add water to maida to make it as a slury.
8. Now dip the shaped cutlets in it .
9. Coat it with bread crumbs.
10.Refrigerate for 10 to 15 mts
11.Finally fry cutlets .Either shallow or deep fry. I have done shallow fry.
12. Drain excess oil .
12. Serve with sauce.
Few points.
1. I have given a very simple version.
2. You can add veggies of your choice
3. Instead of groundnuts you can add cashews.
4.If making in bulk quantities can prepare cutlets and refrigerate it before frying.
5. When needed can fry.

Left over food can be converted into tasty food. Today I’m going to give you left over thengulal powder recipe. It’s very tasty and kids friendly recipe too. When we have lot of left over murku or thengulal we can try this recipe.
Ingredients:
Muruku or thengulal……4 to 5 nos
Sugar……….2 to 3 TSP
Coconut scrapings…2 or 3 Tsp
Method:
Break thengulal into small pieces.
In a dry jar grind it into fine powder.
Finally add sugar and run a second or can add sugar seperately before serving.
Can add coconut scrapings too.But it is optional.
I have used ordinary thengulal can also use muruku.It can be given both for kids and also for old people.Can powder muruku alone too and serve without adding sugar.
We have a number of variety rice carrot rice is an easy one.We can say that it is lunch box special.It is kids special.
We can prepare in two ways.One is the pressure cooker method thepther one with the left over rice.
INGREDIENTS:
Rice: 1 cup
Onion-1 or 2 sliced
carrot:3/4 cup cut in small pieces
Coriander leaves 1tbs
Bay leaf:1
cardomom a few
Vegetable masala powder:1 or 2 tsp
salt to taste
mint leaves few
Oil or ghee
FOR GRINDING:
Coconut:1/4 cup
Coriander leaves:1 tbs
Ginger: a small piece
Garlic 3 or 4 pods
Green chilly:1
METHOD
Wash and keep rice aside
Keep cooker in stove.Add oil or ghee.
put bay leaf when it gets heated.
add cardomom to it.
Add coriander and mint leaves to it
Add sliced onions and saute it.
Now add cut carrot pieces to it
Then add the ground paste to it and mix well.
Add vegetable masala powder to it.
Now add the washed rice to it and fry for few seconds.
Now add water to it after adding salt to it.
Close the lid and keep for 2 whistles
Serve with papad and raitha.
Suggestions:
1.I have used Sonam masoori rice steam which I use daily for cooking.I used 2 cups of water and kept till 2 whistles.
2.Can use basmati rice but use water accordingly
3.If it is prepared with left over rice same steps from 1 to 8 steps have to be followedcan use grated carrot or if cut pieces boil and add before adding cooked rice.
4.For a variation can add sambar powder instead of vegetable masala.
